Artist Statement

Dusk light is the most inspirational time of day for me. The mystery of deep shadows and colorful skies moves me to capture something of the moment – to preserve the most fleeting time of day, the move from light to dark, known to unknown. My work is always looking to find that moment of change, the sliver of clarity in the blurry rush of modern life and celebrate the beauty of imperfection and transience. As I gain momentum I hope to clear a swath of illumination into those sometimes dreary intersections of nature and urban sprawl, revealing the power of the suburbs to create a thin kind of magic – the illusion of safety and surety amidst the chaos of the world.

My work lives in those moments, and I hope to reveal its power to create a place of quiet hope.
